Is this an elaborate plan to turbocharge private partnerships within the NHS?

PS. Please know that your letter to No 10 will likely receive an 'autoresponder' reply which will come back to e-action (the service on which we host these types of action) and be forwarded to you. This is because email systems worldwide have been tightened up to stop the email 'spoofing' that was so prevalent some years ago. E-action will delete from their email servers your reply from no. 10, once they have forwarded it to you. The actual message from Keir Starmers office tells you that you won't get a reply unless you complete a form on the no.10 part of the .gov website. This is possibly done to deter campaigning organisations from organising this sort of action. However, we have it on good authority that the emails do get through and if enough of them land they are discussed. It sadly does not mean you will get a proper reply. We still believe it is worth making ourselves heard and continuing to ask the hard questions this government possibly prefers not to answer.

<div>Dear Sir Keir</div><div>Today, you launched the long-awaited 10-Year Health Plan, with bold promises to “transform the NHS” through sweeping reforms. The proposals are ambitious: around 200 new neighbourhood health centres, huge changes to the NHS app, and a major shift toward prevention. You and your team are positioning yourselves as saviours of the NHS. But one critical question remains: where is the funding for the plan actually coming from? When your Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, announced her spending review recently, explaining the funding plans for the next few years, the NHS funding plans were welcomed by many. In harsh economic times, the NHS has fared better than some other departments. But the planned funding increases are actually lower than the increases we’ve seen for the NHS across the decades and do nothing to restore the damage done by years of underfunding for this essential service. Now there’s an elephant in the room: How do you plan to pay for the enormous changes within your 10 year NHS plan? Will your government be announcing more funding for the NHS? It doesn’t look like it. In that case, it has to come from somewhere else - and I am concerned that this investment could be coming from private companies, seeking to make a profit through partnering with the NHS. There is ample evidence showing the long-term damage caused by previous private finance schemes in the NHS. The Private Finance Initiatives (PFI), brought in by previous governments, saddled the health service and the taxpayer with crippling debts in the years that followed, and we’re still paying them off. In fact, the last PFI NHS hospital in England won’t be paid off until around 2050.  We must not repeat these mistakes. EveryDoctor is a campaigning organisation that supports the need for ambitious change in the NHS. With submissions from over 400 doctors, they created the 'Doctors' Manifesto for the NHS' that actively advocates for change, but they make a very good point about the need for transparency and accountability, and for it all to be publicly funded. I support their view.As a member of the public, I have waited a whole year for this plan to be released and I feel we deserve ALL the facts.  I am writing to you because I need to know how your NHS 10 year plan is being funded? Is this truly an ambitious plan to revive the publicly owned and funded NHS or is this an elaborate plan to turbocharge private partnerships within the NHS?I look forward to your reply.</div><div> </div>
